Run VinoCheck in the background using your live order data, without changing anything in your current workflow. Your existing provider remains fully in control of checkout tax calculation and quarantining orders, while VinoCheck independently calculates our own tax and compliance outcomes in parallel. When you’re ready, log in to view a side-by-side comparison and see exactly where results match or differ.

Currently this test is only available for wineries on Commerce7.

Step 1: Provide the VinoCheck team with your Commerce7 tenant-ID

  • Log into Commerce7, and navigate to "Settings"

  • Select "General"

  • You can view your tenant-ID on this page

  • Email [email protected] your exact Tenant-ID.

Step 2: The VinoCheck team will create your VinoCheck tenant for you. We will email you instructions on how to login and access your VinoCheck tenant.

Step 3: Login to VinoCheck, and configure your state settings. You only need to configure states you would like to test.

  • Navigate to the "State Settings" tab.

  • Enable states you would like to test tax calculation and compliance checks for

    • For a given state, click the toggle on the far right side to "enable" the state.

    • Enter your license information. You may be prompted to enter a license expiration date, for testing purposes this does not need to be accurate. The expiration date is used to determine if a license is active. Orders to a state with an expired license will flag as non-compliant.

    • Enter your sales tax permit information. In a few states such as Alabama you will be prompted to enter an expiration date, for testing purposes this does not need to be accurate. The expiration date is used to determine if the permit is active. Orders to a state with an expired permit will flag as non-compliant.

    • Confirm acknowledgement of rules of shipping into the state

Step 4: Contact the VinoCheck team when your state settings are configured to setup an order webhook. The process takes roughly 1 minute. Email [email protected] for instructions.

Result: Once setup is complete, VinoCheck will ingest your Commerce7 orders in real time. You will be able to view accurate sales tax calculation, and compliance status for any Commerce7 order created going forward.

During the test, Commerce7 will not use the VinoCheck rates to charge the customer. VinoCheck will only calculate our own sales tax calculation in parallel, so you can see what we would have charged.

VinoCheck will not quarantine any Commerce7 orders. VinoCheck will only run our own compliance check in parallel, so you can see what orders we would have quarantined and why.

Turning off the test: At anytime, you can delete the order webhook in Commerce7 to turn off the test, and prevent future orders from being ingested into your VinoCheck test tenant.
